From my experience, this is the always flow of Alibaba suppliers in terms of shipping. When ordering samples, they almost always send them through DHL or other courier companies, and Alibaba sellers usually charge extra in addition to the actual shipping cost. There are several reasons why they do this. But, I can only think they find out who are legitimate potential customers and who are playing with them (Alibaba is a massive list of suppliers and products, and each supplier will have hundreds of contact requests every day) Or, it’s just to get a bit extra dollar as they can.
